The waterproofing technology means you can throw this unit outside without worrying it will get splashed and short out. The waterproofing is done by enclosing the entire strip in a rubber tube but it doesn't affect the light, it's flexible and the strip contains an adhesive backing for mounting to virtually any dry surface.

Warning:Soldering skill is needed for the buyers intending to cut to length. It's suggested to order enough connectors for each of lengths you cut if you are putting them in series (one continuous electrical circuit) or one connector for each length if running them non-continuously (one left, one right, etc.) from the power source
